As a founder and Guru for all Assamese people is Mahapurush Sri Srimanta Sankardev. His best disciple and successor Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhav Dev carried forward to a new dimentions. Barpeta Satra was establish by him. Mathura Das Burha Ata, a follower and disciple of Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhav dev, take responsibility of Barpeta Satra as a head of the organization ( Satradhikar).
